– SOLVED – How to set xfinity to display caller ID on TV

I see a lot of people complaining that their xfinity caller id service has stopped working and calls to comcast tech support result in frustration.  Well, I’m writing to let you all know that I fixed it on my tv and you may be able to fix it on yours by following the instructions below:

Please note that there are apparently several xfinity boxes. This worked for mine, yours may be different. My xfinity box has the rectangular remote control with voice control and a big xfinity button just below the voice control button. If your controller is different, this solution may not work for you. Okay, let’s do this…

  1. press the xfinity button on your remote control
  2. use the left/right buttons to scroll right until you have selected the gear icon and click the OK button (in the middle of the up/down/left/right keypad
  3. use the up/down buttons to  choose PREFERENCES then click OK
  4. use up/down again to select NOTIFICATIONS then click OK
  5. use up/down again to select XFINITY VOICE then click OK it should change from OFF to ON
  6. click the EXIT button (to the left of the voice control button)
  7. you’re done! now look at the upper right of your tv screen when a call is coming in and caller id should be displayed :)
